Business by manga

Bild
http://www.johnnybunko.com/ I woke up this morning about 4.30 AM. It was one of these days travelling early for a full day meeting in Stockholm. I spent the time in the airplane well, by sleeping and having a SAS-breakfast. I must say that after flying with Norwegian a couple of times, a SAS breakfast with Yughurt naturell with 8-corn müsli, fresh orange juice, a bun with cheese/ham/salad and a cup of tea, was really great. But, arriving to Arlanda I felt it was time to start doing something of a more intellectual challenge, so I decided to start reading the book I had brought with me: "The adventures of Johnny Bunko - The last career guide you´ll ever need", written by one of my favourite writer´s Daniel H. Pink . This book is "America´s first business book in the Japanese comic format known as manga ." I was amazed when I opened up the book, because I had totally missed that this book was written in a "comic format". I dunno how I could miss tha

Effective habits

Bild
From "The 7 habits of highly effective people" - miniature edition, by Stephen R. Covey , I would like to share/quote this exformative information: "Knowledge is the theoretical paradigm, the what to do and the why . Skill is the how to do . And desire is the motivation, the want to do . In order to make something a habit in our lives, we have to have all three." Enjoy - It is all about exformation!

Magic Primal Leadership

Bild
I´m a bit upset concerning the concept of Primal Leadership . At an age of 44, I am really concerned about the fact that this concept is so poorly spread among my fellow leaders and also so poorly understood by myself, sofar... But, for me this is not rocket science, it is though scientifically explaining something that is more of an intuitive knowledge for me and also has been one of my core values throughout my career. That is, a leaders primal task is to secure that his/her personnel are in a good mood. So, what is this about? (Read my earlier blog post related to a summary of Primal leadership and the full HBR article as input) A great body of research (by Daniel Goleman and his collegues) has found that emotional intelligence is carried through an organization like electricity through wires. The leader´s mood is affecting everyone throughout the business. Managing for financial results should start with the leader securing that the right emotional and behavioral chain r

a Coaching Leadership style

Bild
What is a coaching leadership style anyway? And, how is it linked to Primal leadership ? Daniel Goleman has defined six different leadership styles to chose from in any given situation. These six styles comes from Goleman´s work on emotional intelligence , which sets out the underlying competencies associated with successful leadership (see table below from unc-blog ). Goleman encourages leaders " to view the styles as six golf clubs, with each one being used in a different situation ." A coaching leadership style is appropriate "to help competent, motivated employees improve performance by building long-term capabilities. Leadership characteristics for this leadership style: "listens, helps people identifying their own strenghts and weaknesses, counselor, encourages, delegates. This style is successful because "it connects what a person wants with the organisation´s goals". From the Wishful Thinking , creative coaching and training blog , I foun

Dare To Be Desigual

Bild
I must admit that I really love Desigual . I have bought two shirts (see photo), that communicate a clear message with statements and values that makes me happy. Desigual uses clothes to tell a story and to communicate their values. Many brands are trying to instill stories, thoughts and power into their brand - Desigual takes it one step further by really using the actual clothes to communicate their story. Some statements from their company profile (found at desigual.com ): It´s not the same. We dress people, not bodies. We create clothes and accessories with a heart... Clothes that touch the emotions. It thrills us to thrill you. Our secret: Fun and Profit. Life is cool!!! My final comment: It´s all about exformation ! Finally, an informative and exformative video showing how Desigual clothes are made - Made with Love : Do you dare to be Desigual?

Medvetet lyssnande

Kort summering av innehållet i klippet nedan: DANGER : We are losing our listening Solution : Conscious listening creates understanding Använd följande akronym för att komma ihåg hur du ska lyssna:  R - Receive A - Appreciate S - Summarize A - Ask Avslutningsvis, direkt från TED .
