Kissies feedback Johari kommunikation exformation

Bild
Not!

Robert Broberg - Öken

Bild

Visual Auditory Kinesthetic

Bild
One method to descripe different learning styles , is the VAK model (Visual Auditory Kinesthetic). We use it to understand how to use different communication styles to reach people, to be really effective in our communciation . I found some interesting clips via YouTube. From YouTube , clip nr1: Learn how your own communications style affects your interaction with your friends, colleagues, and clients. In this segment, Dr. Brian Walsh (author of Unleashing Your Brilliance) explains the NLP concepts of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles and how these apply to interpersonal communications. Another one explaining different "Teaching strategies": Teaching strategies on effectively reaching kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning styles. A third clip where you can do some excercises and get a result regarding your own learning style; When I do above test, and also when doing some other tests in this context, I find myself being mostly Visual , secondl

The Party - taste tomorrow today

Bild

Seven habits - the private victory

Bild
I have read "The  seven habits of highly effective people - powerful lessons in personal change" by Stephen R. Covey . It is a book well worth the time it takes to read it. But, if you are interested in a short intro, you could look into some of these YouTube clips . Or, of course the wikipedia article is also a good start. Or, a pretty good summary of the seven habits can be found here from whitedovebooks  or here from Digestmap (see pictures). Then again, I strongly advice you to really read the book. Not only "glanzing it through" BUT really reading the book. Each page... try to digest it and make the content become an integral part of yourself. And to start with or to end with, I strongly urge you to read my exformative summary of the first three habits - the private victory : Habit 1 - Be proactive Self-awareness, the ability to think about your very thought process. Three social maps: Genetic / Psychic / Environmental determinism Victor Frankl , h

Grymt bra attraktiva målbilder

Bild

Virginia Satir - kongruent kommunikation

Bild

De är: Emotional Intelligence - Mutuality based on Empathy and Authenticity Engaging the group - Returning Authority based on Team focus and Accountability Leading change - Para

Covey´s 8th habit

Bild
When I was in Africa on my extended safari-weekend self-actualization Masai Mara trip last week, I read "the seven habits of highly effective people" by Stephen R Covey, again . I read it thoroughly and I felt it was a great book that I can learn so much from. Then, in the end, I found out that there exists also a 8th habit written a while ago, about how to grow yourself into wisdom in the knowledge worker era. The 8th habit - from effectiveness to greatness ! An exformative  summary: Find your voice and inspire others to find theirs 5 metastasizing cancers: - criticizing - complaining - comparing - competing - contending 4 intelligences: IQ - Mind : Use me creatively - Vision EQ - Heart : Treat me kindly - Passion PQ - Body : Pay me fairly - Discipline SQ - Spirit : Serving human needs in principled ways - Conscience 3 challenges: - trim tab - empower - co mission In communication: use the Indian Talking stick Personal - Leadership - Organizational Greatness Fina

Två-årsjubileum för Hedin Exformation

Bild

Empathy Quotient - a female brain

Bild
I just took a test found in the book "A whole new mind" by Dan Pink , measuring the Empathy Quotient (EQ) using "Simon Baron-Cohen´s sixty-question intrument ", which will determine whether you have a "female brain". My result was: * Your score: 58 0 - 32 = low (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score about 20) 33 - 52 = average (most women score about 47 and most men score about 42) 53 - 63 is above average 64 - 80 is very high 80 is maximum But, to clarify things, I also did the test to check my "male brain" bona fides, measuring the Systemizing quotient (SQ). My result was: * Your score: 17 0 - 19 = low 20 - 39 = average (most women score about 24 and most men score about 30) 40 - 50 = above average (most people with Asperger Syndrome or high-functioning autism score in this range) 51 - 80 is very high (three times as many people with Asperger Syndrome score in this range, compared to typical men, an

Tala är guld, Elizabeth Gummesson

Bild
Talarforum l

The nature of leadership

Bild
I Kontentan #252 (från 2007) behandlas boken "The Nature of Leadership - Reptiles, Mammals, and the challenge of Becoming a Great Leader", skriven av B. Joseph White .

The divided brain by RSA Animate

Bild
A couple of days ago a new RSA Animate clip was produced - " The Divided Brain ", based on a lecture by Iain McGilchrist . I love this concept! Here is the exformative written summary of the YouTube clip embedded below: Left hemisphere is for narrow, sharply focused attention to details versus the right hemisphere is for sustained, broad, open, vigilant alertness. The right hemisphere yields a world of individual, changing, evolving, interconnected, implicit, incarnate living beings in the context of the lived world. For a broad understanding we use knowledge from the right hemisphere. The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. I love the RSA concept, but I do not feel that this specific lecture gave me loads of new good stuff. I am pretty much into these topics, psychology and intuition, and I like this type of lectures where you get a new insight into the complexity of humanity, brought to us by the function of our brain. Tony Robbins tells the Rocky story

Bild
Yesterday I met a collegue that attended a 4-day Tony Robbins inspiration halleluja meeting in Italy. She told me a story about how to chose your own attitude - from a "Oh, fuck" attitude, to a "Fuck you" attitude. She also told me that one really amazing inspirational story that she heard, was Tony Robbins telling "the Rocky story" - a story of motivation and commitment . I had to find it, and of course it was on YouTube (unfortunately not able to embed) but here is the link ! Having listening to this, I also saw that actually Sylvester Stallone is telling this story himself. Quite good also. See the first episode here: Then, I also heard that the next Anthony Robbins halleluja meeting in Europe, " Unleash the power within ",  is in London this May. Maybe time for some personal change... look into the "marketing video" below for a teaser: By the way, I am thinking of attending. Any month now, I will decide ... I must refle

Decodifying a Tree

Bild
The picture to the right is from Wikipedia explaining Communication , "the communication code scheme". Wikipedia starts with: Communication is the activity of conveying meaningful information. Communication requires a sender, a message, and an intended recipient, although the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender's intent to communicate at the time of communication; thus communication can occur across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that the communicating parties share an area of communicative commonality. The communication process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of the sender What wikipedia has understood is that "the communication process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of the sender". In the Tree case, people often have a common "schema" in interpreting the word Tree. But, for more complex scenarios, the words a sender is using to describe a scenario are

the Speed of Trust, part2

Bild
Jag har precis läst Kontentan #329, som heter "The speed of trust - The one thing that changes everything", skriven av Stephen M.R. Covey , son till legenden Stephen R Covey (författaren till S even habits of highly effective people ).

Where Good Ideas Come From

WHERE GOOD IDEAS COME FROM by Steven Johnson . Engines of creativity = the historic increase in Connectivity ...distracted... borrow... combine... missing piece... From Wikipedia: "He is the author of the best-selling book, Everything Bad is Good for You: How Today's Popular Culture Is Actually Making Us Smarter (2005), which argues that over the last three decades popular culture artifacts (like television dramas and video games) have become increasingly complex and have helped to foster higher-order thinking skills." Be the first win to synergize the saw

Bild
I would like myself to be proactive ... Sometimes it is difficult, but tomorrow I really would like myself to begin with the end in mind while writing an extraordinary blog post about the Stephen Covey seven habits of highly effective people. I truly believe that I right now should be in my sofa looking at TV, to p ut first things first , like Fredrik and Filip or Karatefylla. When I think about life, I really think Win-Win . Why? Because, in all my inter-human interactions, I Seek first to understand, then to be understood . After some meditation and reflection, I usually synergize and finally, I look around in despair, looking for a place where I can Sharpen the saw . By the way, picture from Careerdevelopmentplan.net. In real life, I found this video clip, directly from YouTube . The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in Five Minutes from SelfGrowth.com: That was pretty good. Tribal change leadership

I am a big fan of TED , to say the least... Thanks to the Tieto Yammer Great Leader group, I found some links to the below "tribe" video clips (picture from triballeadership.net). My Emotional Intelligence

Bild
Once upon a time there was a man who decided he wanted to understand more about himself. He started to read a lot of books about "getting to know yourself" and even studied psychology in the university. Eventually he became a manager and a leader of his company where he could continue his journey understanding himself by attending different management trainings and also by learning in day to day life what impact he had on his followers. When he became older he noticed that the manager role as such, including a lot of administrative work and economical follow up activities, was not what he enjoyed most. He took a role where he had the freedom to continue with his more strategical overview activities but also supporting others in other more operational areas. He started to write blog posts about leadership and communication during nights and continued to read a lot of interesting books and looking into the web for links and hints for YouTube clips and other interesting sources

Business by manga

Bild
http://www.johnnybunko.com/ I woke up this morning about 4.30 AM. It was one of these days travelling early for a full day meeting in Stockholm. I spent the time in the airplane well, by sleeping and having a SAS-breakfast. I must say that after flying with Norwegian a couple of times, a SAS breakfast with Yughurt naturell with 8-corn müsli, fresh orange juice, a bun with cheese/ham/salad and a cup of tea, was really great. But, arriving to Arlanda I felt it was time to start doing something of a more intellectual challenge, so I decided to start reading the book I had brought with me: "The adventures of Johnny Bunko - The last career guide you´ll ever need", written by one of my favourite writer´s Daniel H. Pink . This book is "America´s first business book in the Japanese comic format known as manga ." I was amazed when I opened up the book, because I had totally missed that this book was written in a "comic format". I dunno how I could miss tha

Effective habits

Bild
From "The 7 habits of highly effective people" - miniature edition, by Stephen R. Covey , I would like to share/quote this exformative information: "Knowledge is the theoretical paradigm, the what to do and the why . Skill is the how to do . And desire is the motivation, the want to do . In order to make something a habit in our lives, we have to have all three." Enjoy - It is all about exformation!

Magic Primal Leadership

Bild
I´m a bit upset concerning the concept of Primal Leadership . At an age of 44, I am really concerned about the fact that this concept is so poorly spread among my fellow leaders and also so poorly understood by myself, sofar... But, for me this is not rocket science, it is though scientifically explaining something that is more of an intuitive knowledge for me and also has been one of my core values throughout my career. That is, a leaders primal task is to secure that his/her personnel are in a good mood. So, what is this about? (Read my earlier blog post related to a summary of Primal leadership and the full HBR article as input) A great body of research (by Daniel Goleman and his collegues) has found that emotional intelligence is carried through an organization like electricity through wires. The leader´s mood is affecting everyone throughout the business. Managing for financial results should start with the leader securing that the right emotional and behavioral chain r

a Coaching Leadership style

Bild
What is a coaching leadership style anyway? And, how is it linked to Primal leadership ? Daniel Goleman has defined six different leadership styles to chose from in any given situation. These six styles comes from Goleman´s work on emotional intelligence , which sets out the underlying competencies associated with successful leadership (see table below from unc-blog ). Goleman encourages leaders " to view the styles as six golf clubs, with each one being used in a different situation ." A coaching leadership style is appropriate "to help competent, motivated employees improve performance by building long-term capabilities. Leadership characteristics for this leadership style: "listens, helps people identifying their own strenghts and weaknesses, counselor, encourages, delegates. This style is successful because "it connects what a person wants with the organisation´s goals". From the Wishful Thinking , creative coaching and training blog , I foun

Dare To Be Desigual

Bild
I must admit that I really love Desigual . I have bought two shirts (see photo), that communicate a clear message with statements and values that makes me happy. Desigual uses clothes to tell a story and to communicate their values. Many brands are trying to instill stories, thoughts and power into their brand - Desigual takes it one step further by really using the actual clothes to communicate their story. Some statements from their company profile (found at desigual.com ): It´s not the same. We dress people, not bodies. We create clothes and accessories with a heart... Clothes that touch the emotions. It thrills us to thrill you. Our secret: Fun and Profit. Life is cool!!! My final comment: It´s all about exformation ! Finally, an informative and exformative video showing how Desigual clothes are made - Made with Love : Do you dare to be Desigual?

Medvetet lyssnande

Kort summering av innehållet i klippet nedan: DANGER : We are losing our listening Solution : Conscious listening creates understanding Använd följande akronym för att komma ihåg hur du ska lyssna:  R - Receive A - Appreciate S - Summarize A - Ask Avslutningsvis, direkt från TED .
